Oswego’s Megan Teachout selected NEWHL Rookie of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Oswego freshman forward Megan Teachout (Auburn, NY) has been selected the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Rookie of the Week.

The honor is for games contested from Monday, Feb. 3, through Sunday, Feb. 9, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Feb. 11.

Teachout posted three points on two goals and an assist during a 3-0 week for the Lakers. 

The freshman kicked off a third-period comeback with a goal against Morrisville on Wednesday, Feb. 5, while also recording an assist on the opening goal of a 2-1 win at Utica on Saturday, Feb. 8. 

She then scored Oswego's opening goal during a 3-2 upset of a 15-3-3 Nazareth squad on Sunday, Feb. 9. 

Teachout leads the Lakers in scoring with a team-high 11 goals and 13 assists for 24 points and sits inside the Top 10 in the NEWHL in total points.
