For 13th straight week Plattsburgh No. 1 in D-III Poll Division III Women's Top-10 Poll

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey received all 15 first-place votes and 150 voting points to garner the No. 1 spot for the 13th consecutive Division III Women's Top-10 Poll, as announced on Monday.  

Plattsburgh State (19-1-0, 14-0-0 Northeast Women's Hockey League [NEWHL]) retained its No. 1 ranking after defeating SUNY Potsdam, 6-1, on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in Potsdam, N.Y. With the victory over the Bears, Plattsburgh State claimed its third consecutive NEWHL regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the NEWHL Tournament. 

The Cardinals, who have held the No. 1 ranking in the poll since March 18, 2019, are on an 11-game winning streak. Over its winning streak, Plattsburgh State has outscored its opponents, 60-12, with three of the Cardinals' wins coming against teams that were ranked in the top five of the Division III Women's Top-10 Poll at the time of the game.

Plattsburgh State next hosts NEWHL foe SUNY Cortland for a two-game series on Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
