SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Cortland junior forward Grace Schnorr (Camillus, NY) has been named the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Player of the Week.
The honor is for games contested from Monday, Jan. 6, through Sunday, Jan. 12, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Schnorr helped lead the Red Dragons (9-3-1) to three non-conference wins last week, scoring seven points on six goals and one assist. She had a game-winning goal, a power-play tally and was +6 for the three-game stretch.
She began the week with two goals and an assist in a 7-2 home victory versus Alvernia on Monday, Jan. 6. Schnorr then tallied the game-winning goal in a 4-0 win at Neumann on Friday, Jan. 10, and recorded her second career hat-trick in an 8-2 victory at Neumann on Saturday, Jan. 11.
For the season, Schnorr leads Cortland with 20 points on a team-high 13 goals and seven assists and has moved into a tie for eighth place in career scoring with 44 points on 28 goals and 16 assists in just 40 games.
She currently is ranked fourth nationally with 1.54 points-per-game and is third nationally with her 13 goals.
