SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh sophomore netminder Ashley Davis (Winterville, NC) has been selected the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Goalie of the Week.
The honor is for games contested from Monday, Jan. 6, through Sunday, Jan. 12, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
Davis posted a 2-0-0 record with 43 saves, a 0.50 goals against average and a .977 save percentage last week for Plattsburgh.
She began the week by recording a career-high 32 saves in a 4-1 win over then-No. 5 Adrian in the championship game of the East-West Hockey Classic on Monday, Jan. 6. Eleven of Davis' saves came in the third period as Plattsburgh secured the victory.
For her performance in the tournament, Davis was named to the East-West Classic All-Tournament Team.
She then concluded her week with an 11-save shutout as Plattsburgh topped Buffalo State 6-0 on Saturday, Jan. 11. With the win, Plattsburgh State improved to 14-1-0 overall and 10-0-0 in the Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) in 2019-20.
