SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Oswego junior forward Amber Thomas (Cornwall, Ontario, Canada) has been named the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Player of the Week.
The honor is for games contested from Monday, Nov. 11, through Sunday, Nov. 17, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Thomas led the Lakers to a 1-0-1 week after accumulating seven points in a victory over Buffalo State and a tie against Cortland.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Thomas registered a pair of goals and posted a trio of assists to unleash a five-point contest - tying the single-game record at Oswego for points in a game.
She had a hand in five of the Lakers' six goals and posted a +3 on ice rating as Oswego rolled to a 6-2 victory over the Bengals. She also was credited with the game-winner.
On Nov. 18, Thomas scored a goal and added an assist during a 3-3 tie against Cortland.
