SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh freshman defensive player Kendall Wasik (Novi, MI) has been selected the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Rookie of the Week.
The honor is for games contested from Monday, Nov. 2, through Sunday, Nov. 10, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

The rookie began her impressive stretch with an assist, two blocked shots and a +2 rating in the Cardinals 3-1 win over #7 Norwich on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Wasik's assist against the Cadets came on the first goal of the game.

She concluded her week with two blocked shots to help Plattsburgh blank the Lakers on Nov. 9 3-0.
With its three wins on the week, Plattsburgh set the NCAA Division III women's ice hockey record for consecutive home victories at 29, a streak that began on Dec. 1, 2017, with an 8-0 shutout of SUNY Potsdam.
