PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey retained its spot atop the USCHO.com Division III Women's Top-10 Poll, as announced on Monday.
Plattsburgh State (2-0-0, 2-0-0 Northeastern Women's Hockey League), which garnered all 15 first-place votes and 150 voting points to hold on to the No. 1 spot in the poll, extended its winning streak to 20 games by sweeping Buffalo State in a two-game NEWHL series last week.
The Cardinals lengthened their winning streak – the longest-active winning streak in NCAA Division III women's ice hockey – by defeating the Bengals 5-0 on Friday, Nov. 1, and 8-0 on Saturday, Nov. 2, in Buffalo, N.Y.
The reigning NCAA Division III national champion, Plattsburgh State will unveil its 2018-19 championship banner prior to the game with No. 8 Norwich University on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. In addition, 17th-year head coach Kevin Houle enters the game against the Cadets with a career coaching record of 399-50-25.
Thanks to UFirst Federal Credit Union, admission to all Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey home games will be free for the entirety of the 2019-20 season.
