Plattsburgh’s Kassi Abbott scores hat-trick as NEWHL Goalie of Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh senior netminder Kassi Abbott (Medford, MA) has been selected the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Goalie of the Week for the third consecutive time.

The honor is for games contested from Monday, Nov. 26, through Sunday, Dec. 2, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Abbott backstopped the Cardinals in a NEWHL weekend sweep of Oswego by conjuring up a .964 save percentage and a 0.56 goals-against average.

She took over sole possession of fourth in career shutouts (15) in the program's record book with a 22-save effort in a 4-0 victory over Oswego on Friday, Nov. 30. Abbott then made five stops in a 6-1 win over the Lakers on Saturday, Dec. 1.

For the year, Abbott ranks second in NCAA Division III in save percentage (.982), goals-against average (0.33) and shutouts (6).
