Plattsburgh’s Hanna Rose named NEWHL Rookie of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh freshman defenseman Hanna Rose (Chaumont, NY) has been selected the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Rookie of the Week.

The honor is for games contested from Monday, Oct. 29, through Sunday, Nov. 4, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Rose recorded three points on a goal and two assists while posting a +2 rating in a regular-season and NEWHL-opening sweep of Cortland on Nov. 2 and 3.

The rookie assisted on a goal in a 5-0 win over Cortland on Friday before scoring her first collegiate goal and adding an assist in a 7-0 victory vs. the Red Dragons on Saturday.

Rose is currently tied for seventh in NCAA Division III in points per game among freshmen (1.50) and tied for eighth in Division III in points per game among defensemen.
