SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh senior forward Courtney Moriarty (Estero, FL) has been selected the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Player of the Week after leading the Cardinals to a two-game sweep at Cortland over the weekend.
The honor is for games contested from Monday, Oct. 29, through Sunday, Nov. 4, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Moriarty recorded five points on four goals and one assist to help Plattsburgh State open its regular-season and NEWHL schedule with a pair of shutout wins over Cortland.
She posted three points on two goals - including the game-winner - and one assist in a 5-0 victory over Cortland on Friday, Nov. 2, before scoring twice in a 7-0 shutout of the Red Dragons on Saturday, Nov. 3.
Nationally, Moriarty already is tied for second in goals per game (2.00) and tied for eighth in points per game (2.50).
