    CORTLAND, N.Y. – The No. 2/2 Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team cruised to an 11-1 Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) victory over SUNY Cortland Friday afternoon at Alumni Arena, as freshman forward Taylor Whitney (Livonia, Mich./Little Caesars) and sophomore forward Annie Katonka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pittsburgh Penguins Elite) each netted a hat trick, while senior defenseman Maci Hoskins (Oklahoma City, Okla./Northwood School) scored her first collegiate goal.

    CANTON, N.Y. – Sophomore defensemen Katelinn Cummings (Johnson City/Northwood School) and Olivia Wilburn (Stockton, CA/San Jose Sharks U19AAA) scored their first career goals as Cortland defeated host Canton, 2-1, in a women’s ice hockey non-conference game. The Red Dragons (7-5-3) won their fifth straight contest and are unbeaten in their last six outings. Canton, which was 5-2-1 in its previous eight games, fell to 7-6-3 with the loss.

    PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team is ranked at No. 2 in both the USCHO.com Division III Women's Top-10 Poll and the D3hockey.com Women's Top-10 Poll, as announced Monday by both organizations. The Cardinals received 128 points and one first-place vote in the USCHO.com poll and 134 points and two first-place votes in the D3hockey.com poll.

The Red Dragons improved to 6-5-3 on the season, while the Bison dropped to 8-4-3.
