    PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Junior forward Kaitlin Drew-Mead (Niagara Falls, N.Y./Buffalo Bisons) posted a career-high four points on three goals and an assist, helping the No. 1 Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team down Oswego State, 7-1, in Northeast Women's Hockey League (NEWHL) action at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena on Friday. With the victory, the Cardinals tied Gustavus Adolphus College (Dec. 13, 2011-Nov. 8, 2013) for the longest home winning streak in NCAA Division III history (28), which began on Dec. 1, 2017, against SUNY Potsdam.

    POTSDAM, N.Y. - The SUNY Potsdam women's hockey (2-1, 2-1 NEWHL) scored five goals in a 7:55 span of the second period to defeat the Buffalo State Bengals (0-3, 0-3 NEWHL) 5-0 on Friday night. Senior captain Alexa Pfeiffer (Sylvania, Ohio/Little Caeser's) recorded her 22nd career win and fourth shutout with 24 saves for the Bears.

Stafford Ice Arena, as the No. 1 Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey team downed No. 8 Norwich University, 3-1, in its regular-season home opener. Prior to the game, the Cardinals celebrated their 2019 national championship team as a part of a banner raising ceremony.

    PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Three days after winning the NCAA Division III women's ice hockey national championship — her second as a student-athlete in addition to the Cardinals' fifth in six years and seventh overall — Plattsburgh State's junior defenseman Hannah Kiraly traveled halfway across the country to watch her brother Danny, also a junior defenseman, compete in the NCAA Division III men's ice hockey national championship game. Hannah drove to the Burlington airport where she flew to Detroit then to Milwaukee, where she met her parents. They finished the trip with a three-hour drive northwest to Stevens Point, Wis.

St. Thomas and Hamline University square off in the other semifinal-round game at 7 p.m., with the two semifinal winners to play for the national championship on Saturday, March 16, at 7 p.m. The third-place game will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday.
